Overall Design

This year, two distinct design directions are gaining momentum. First, a revival of late 20th-century aesthetics—think glass block, pastel tones, and bold color applications—reimagined through a contemporary lens. In parallel, interiors are embracing a return to earthy refinement. Deep wood tones, warm browns, and natural hues like olive and ochre create layered, tactile environments that feel rooted and elevated.

Upcoming Colors

The 2025 color story is defined by depth and quiet luxury. Rich, refined browns introduce an understated warmth, while smoky grey-greens lend a grounded elegance to any space. Butter yellow offers a soft, luminous quality—cheerful yet sophisticated. The rise of color-drenching, where a single hue envelops walls, millwork, and furnishings, creates immersive spaces full of personality and cohesion.

Kitchen Trends

Kitchens continue to evolve as both a functional hub and a design focal point. Hardware is shifting toward polished nickel—a classic finish that reintroduces subtle warmth and enduring style. The walk-in butler’s pantry is increasingly coveted for its blend of discretion and drama, while in more compact homes, we’re seeing creative reinterpretations: built-in coffee bars, extended millwork, and hybrid pantry-laundry spaces that maximize both form and utility.

New Finishes

Vintage-inspired finishes bring a curated sense of history and permanence, while textured surfaces—lime wash, Venetian plaster, wallpaper—imbue interiors with warmth and artisanal character. Architectural details like fluted glass, reeded panels, and subtly grooved millwork introduce depth and visual rhythm, offering a sophisticated counterpoint to smooth, modern surfaces.

Bathroom Designs

Bathrooms are emerging as curated retreats, balancing bold design with serene functionality. Playful patterns, warm woods, and spa-inspired details transform these spaces into highly personalized sanctuaries. Small-scale tile—on both floors and walls—adds tactile richness and a handcrafted aesthetic through intricate layouts and detailed grout work.

Exterior Updates

Exterior design in 2025 highlights the power of contrast and material interplay. Wood siding juxtaposed with stucco, vinyl, or brick lends warmth, texture, and timeless depth to façades. Red brick is experiencing a revival—its natural moodiness embraced rather than masked. Accentuated with rich, saturated paint tones, these homes make a statement through tonal subtlety or bold, high-contrast compositions.
