Maverick Design + Wedgewood Homes introduce a reimagined California abode! This sunny, two-story home is situated on an oversized lot in one of Ventura's most idyllic beach access communities, The Keys. Our team came together to revive the home and unveil its hidden potential. When we first visited the property, we found that it had great bones, but the floorplan was tight and compartmentalized, and materials were worn and in disrepair. The home's exterior had been dilapidated over the years which presented an opportunity for a fresh start. We modernized the exterior with a lighter, coastal paint scheme and added new horizontal wood fencing and gate to enhance the curb appeal. Inside, the home's interior finishes were worn and reflective of another era. We selected an updated finish palette, inspired by a modern coastal aesthetic, punctuated with rich finishes, tonal hues, and natural textures. The home's existing floorplan featured a notably narrow, dark, and undersized kitchen. With some thoughtful adjustments to the layout, the team designed an open and spacious kitchen with an improved connection to the shared spaces. Keeping in mind our buyer's increasing need for dedicated work from home spaces, we created a flexible, creative workspace off the entry. We enhanced the primary bedroom to include custom dual closets and a spacious, stunning en-suite bathroom with custom design double vanity, an expansive walk-in shower, and a freestanding soaking tub. All and all, the interior and exterior of this home were fully revitalized with designer finishes and fixtures and relaxing coastal spaces to welcome its new owner.
